FUTURE HOUSTON FROM 1920

Future Houston from 1920 | pettydesign

While searching through the University of Houston image library, I came across this 1920s artist vision of what Houston of 1980 was envisioned to be like. I find this image absolutely incredible. You have to keep in mind this is 20 years before the first freeway in Houston. I love the ominous architecture and integration with infrastructure. The streets of multiple levels. That massive star of texas. Its great! As a point of reference, below is a postcard of what Houston of the time looked like.
